The Southern Conference on African American Studies, Inc. (SCAASI) 47th Annual
Meeting will be held in Montgomery, Alabama—the birthplace of the modern Civil Rights Movement.

Registration is now open for the 2026 conference, with rates of $275 for administrators, faculty, and staff, $250 for SCAASI Life Members, and $125 for students.  All presenters and conference participants are required to be registered. Conference Dates: February 5-8, 2026.

Early Registration Deadline: December 30, 2025.

Our annual conference is traditionally held in a former Confederate or border state. Most important, attempts are made to hold some part of the convention on an historically black college (HBCU) campus, or a related institution.
