HORNSBY MEMORIAL COLLEGIATE QUIZ BOWL

Each entering school should be represented by four players. The quiz bowl will  consists of a series of question rounds. Depending on the number of entrants the school teams will participate in question rounds until the teams are narrowed to the last 2. These teams will answer questions until a winner is selected. 
 (The second round will be held for winning schools in the first round. The third round if necessary will be held for round two winners etc.) 

ENTRY FEE
$100 Per team

RULES 
Prizes to be awarded to the entering Department
Material to be covered by questions will be sent out in early December
ALL answers must conform to material provided only
Each school is represented by four players (Same players must play all rounds) 
Only 1 team will be allowed from each school
Schools will compete against each other until a winner is determined.
The initial round will be determined by drawing
Each round will have a predetermined number of questions

LILLY NETON HORNSBY MEMORIAL AWARD “A”
The award is given to the best submitted Undergraduate Student Essay.  
We are looking for best scholarly/documented essay centering around our current conference theme.  Papers should be at least 10 pages, including bibliography, and footnoted according to discipline (APA, MLA, or Turabian Guide).

Every year SCAASI sponsors events and contest for students including the Hornsby Memorial Collegiate Quiz Bowl.

Students you can participate in the conference in  several ways. You can submit an abstract for presentation or send in a paper to the student paper contest. Students can also submit posters or proposals for student panels or sessions. 

Reantsia K Butler Memorial Essay Contest

Graduate students: SCAASI is a great place to present your research, thesis or dissertation ideas. This conference provides an excellent opportunity for professional development. We encourage new scholars to come out an network and share their work.


Undergraduate Student Membership Fees

ALL STUDENTS: Membership is $50.00


Regular undergraduate student conference registration is $125.00

(includes all registration materials)


Conference Registration is only $75.00 for students involved in contests and presenting papers. 


Student Proposals Due: Friday September 30, 2017


Review Proposal Starts: Monday, October 30, 2017


Last Day to Submit Proposal: Friday, November 27, 2017


Notification of Acceptance: Friday, December 8, 2017
